The Top 6 Benefits for CSA Members

Joining a CSA has benefits for the farmer as well as for the members. Let’s look at what I believe are the top-most of that list.

Fresh Produce

When you purchase a CSA share from Redemption Acres, you are receiving the freshest produce around.

We pick daily, and typically the vegetables in your basket were picked in the last 24 hours. In some cases, they were picked within an hour of delivery to your drop site (some greens and herbs).

There’s no more wondering where your produce came from or how long it was on a truck and the shelf at the store. Fresh is best!

Eating Seasonally

By joining a CSA, you learn intimately about what can be grown in your localized area. This varies even in the same region, due to microclimates and growing practices.

For us in central Minnesota, June is full of greens and herbs, July brings in zucchini and cucumbers, August is has bountiful tomatoes and peppers, and the fall months bring in root crops and winter squash.

Our members enjoy eating through the seasons, and because it’s so fresh, the taste is out of this world amazing!

Locally Grown

CSAs are by nature, very local. As a member, you are supporting a small business and the local economy. Kuddos to you!

Simple Way to Eat More Vegetables

Joining a CSA is a simple way to be sure your family is eating more vegetables. Members commit to a weekly box filled with delicious vegetables, and if those veggies are in the house, they will typically get used.

No more walking through the store, trying to decide what to purchase and how to use that in your meals before it goes bad. We take care to give you the freshest, most delicious vegetables straight to your table.

Easy Recipes

Our members receive the benefit of weekly recipes from us to use the vegetables in their share. I’m talking easy, kid-approved, asking-for more ideas that don’t require a trip to the store to purchase weird ingredients.

More Family Time

Because members already have their vegetables picked out for them, and easy recipes to use those vegetables, there’s no need to run to the store to grab ingredients or a frozen pizza when your family can’t agree on an idea.

Instead, you can whip up a quick and easy dinner in your kitchen and enjoy it together. BIG win in our book!
